Frittenden is a quiet Kent village just off the main road from Cranbrook to Maidstone. It’s handy for a traditional music gathering partly because of its facilities, which include the splendid Bell & Jorrocks pub and a village hall, but also because the villagers enjoy social events and have supported a range of music and dancing events over the years. It was also the home for many years of Kent’s notorious Mr Jorrocks morris team.
For those travelling by train, Frittenden is just a few miles by taxi or friend’s car from Staplehurst railway station, which is on the main line from London to Ashford, or from Tonbridge to Ashford if you’re coming from the South Coast or from the western side of London.
Follow the link for information about buses can be found here and some local taxi companies are listed here.
If you need accommodation, this Googlewhack includes quite a few B&Bs in the area, and the http://www.cranbrook.org.uk website lists quite a few B&Bs, small hotels etc.
To find Frittenden on an online map, click here. If your route is guided by a lady or gentleman of the stars, the postcode for the Bell & Jorrocks pub at the centre of the village is TN17 2EJ.
Please note that all tickets will be available on the day – there are no advance ticket sales.
